This course is for children aged between 5 and 10 years old, who speak French.
No knowledge of dancing or theatre is required..
The objective of these 5 days, for 6 hours a day, is to develop the pleasure and play with the concept of the body within space. Dancing and theatre are closely linked; children and their body-instrument know it well. Children will learn to control this instrument while developing the imagination of young artists.
What it involves: in the morning, we will start with a body warm up to prepare us for dancing. It will be followed by games and exercises in a theatre setting. Small characters and personality role plays.
Lunch break between 12pm and 1pm.
In the afternoon, dancing and we also will go through the work done in drama at the end of the morning. Then the children will act the characters and personalities.
Teachers:
Jean-Yves Brignon is an Playwright, Director and Actor with 20 years experience. Jean-Yves has directed around 30 plays and played in several classical and contemporary plays. He teaches drama to children, teenagers and adults with his company, as well as within other structures, for example he has taught at the International French School of Sydney.
Blandine Brasseur is a Dancer and Choreographer. She won the first prize in contemporary dance, Blandine is also comfortable with classical dance or Hip Hop. She has worked with different companies and danced in France and abroad, for example in Africa and Italy. Blandine has been in Australia for a year and has performed all over the country. She teach Dance since 2006.
